This old bird with unusual tail feather markings tried to maul my "pretty boy" decoy before he succumbed to lead poisoning. Fried turkey fingers for the family and for Herman!
The fry daddy and a tried-and-true batter recipe (2 parts AP flour, 1 part cornmeal, 1 part crumbled saltines + salt/pepper to taste) along with a tangy horseradish sauce made a delicious dinner out of his breast meat. 1/2 of his breast cooked this way was enough to feed 5 or 6 people.
